'Stairs' by Rein Jansma at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

23.04.2018

Starting April 25th, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam will present a retrospective exhibition of the Dutch designer duo Studio Drift, 'Coded Nature'. A source of inspiration in the work of Studio Drift is the composer Philip Glass. The staircase book 'Stairs' by Rein Jansma will also be on display during the exhibition.

Rein Jansma made the book ‘Stairs’ as uncommissioned work in 1982; a pop-up book with 10 stairs. The publication of the staircase book was at the time coincident with the Holland Festival opera 'De Fotograaf' from Philip Glass by Rob Malasch and with sets designed by Rein Jansma according to the stair structures in the staircase book.

The exhibition will be opened at the Stedelijk Museum on April 24th at 20.00. Coded Nature can be visited till August 26th 2018.
