Albertpark stadium of the future

08.07.2016

Late February, the old grandstand of the Albertpark stadium in Oostende, Belgium was demolished and the construction of the new KVO football stadium started. After demolition and excavation, the concrete floor slab was poured and the interior structure was erected. The steps and walls of the new grandstand are now clearly visible over the full length of the stadium. The renovation is on schedule and the new grandstand will arise in just a few months time. The new stadium will be opened at the end of July, right before the start of the new football season.

The grandstand is a design by ZJA and ABV+architecten and is a building on three levels, partly built below ground level. This limits the height of the stadium in such a way that the stadium does not block any daylight from local residents.
