Sustainable architectonic gem

Reborn as Capital C Amsterdam, the former Diamond Exchange is once more part of Amsterdam as a centre for the creative industry. The historic building, from 1911, had its original grandeur restored after a radical renovation, commissioned by Zadelhoff B.V. and Sijthoff Media and designed by ZJA in collaboration with Heyligers architects and Braaksma & Roos architecture bureau. It is now crowned with a contemporary, characterful and parametrically designed dome of steel and glass, developed in cooperation with Octatube. Glittering like a diamond, this ‘High Light’ presents one of the most spectacular views of the city and reflects its present and its past.
