The station-area in Apeldoorn is being renovated. In this plan the architects ZJA designed a new, dynamic bus station. It is the first part of the renewal that has been completed.
Dynamic means that a bus doesn't have its 'own' platform at the station, but that the bus wil be pointed to its platform via a dynamic display. Travelers are informed by displays about which bus goes to which platform.
The advantage of this dynamic system is, that less space is needed, because the space available is used more effectively.
We designed a transparant, logic and social safe station. All materials, the standard-shelter as well, are durable and low-maintenance. The shelters on the platform are not very big: travellers can use the large main shelter. The moment that it is clear which bus goes to which platform, it will show on displays.
